Welcome to Soulful Healing with me - Aileen Collins. I am a registered, integrative counsellor and certified play therapist, who is deeply committed to supporting the well-being of adults, who haven't had the best early life experiences or childhoods, and who long to finally feel whole and well again.
BA Hons Social Science, PGCE, Dip Couns, Integrative Counsellor, Certified Play Therapist, Reiki Master, IFS Informed Therapist, Flowtrition Practitioner, Accredited EFT Practitioner, TRE Practitioner in training.
I have a special interest in trauma and my calling is to help those who have experienced trauma of any kind, to explore, heal and move forwards from their pasts towards a future that feels nurturing and wonderful.
If you'd have asked me at the age of 10 what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would have said 'an interpreter' or 'a vet'. I would never have said 'a counsellor' or 'a play therapist'. I do feel, however, that these roles have been my calling and my ultimate destiny!
I regularly attend training sessions, talks and conferences in a range of topics related to therapeutic pratice in order to keep my knowledge refreshed and up to date. Some of the most recent workshops I have attended are:

I work in an integrative way that is free flowing. I will encourage you to explore and make sense of your own ongoing life experiences. I will always support you to connect with your own inner wisdom and resources as I believe we all have the innate potential to heal ourselves.
As a qualified therapist I have experience in working with a number of difficulties including:
I have my own practice at my home which I call my hobbit House. It's a private and peaceful place which clients often tell me is very beautiful and calming. In the warmer weather it's also private enough to have sessions outside on the grassy banks, under the shade of the trees.
Animals have similar chakras to human beings. The root chakra is best accessed at the tailbone and the sacral, solar plexus, heart and throat in the underbelly. Brow and crown chakras are at their usual positions. We can heal additional chakras like nose, ears, paws and tail too. Reiki sessions can last from 5 to 30 minutes.
It is also quite normal for animals to run away after receiving a little bit of healing and it is ok to stop when this happens - it means they are done. I have however been blessed to sit with animals for long periods of time too. EFT has been used on many animals such as horses, rhinos, tigers, cats and dogs.
Reiki has helped many of my animal friends with issues such as anxiety and overcoming trauma. It has also been very helpful in easing the difficulties from cancer treatment such as pain or nausea. It seems to bring a gentle sense of calm and peace that allows for an easy and gentle transition.
